About

Gaming enthusiasts, serving gamers since 2004

We didn't get into server hosting because it was "a growing market". We did it because we wanted multiplayer that runs perfectly, and we couldn't find it. Twenty years later, we're still eating RAM for breakfast, and we have solid infrastructure, clear management, and human support so you can focus on what matters most: playing.

Our mission

Alongside players since 2004

Since 2004, nitroserv helps players create, host and run their game servers. Minecraft with friends, modded worlds, survival servers, giant factories or more ambitious communities... our role is simple: give you solid infrastructure and clear tools to launch your server without getting lost in the technical details!

nitroserv is not a marketing company that discovered game servers along the way.

We're a French game server hosting company, but above all we're a team that knows what it hosts. A game server isn't just a machine with a price tag that we sell and then forget about. It's a living world, players connecting, backups to protect, mods to install and update, performance to maintain and problems to avoid.

Our DNA

A story of servers, not marketing

We imagined and created nitroserv at a time when launching a game server required a lot of patience, technical knowledge and often quite a bit of tinkering.

Since then, games have evolved a lot, Minecraft arrived, communities grew, modpacks sometimes group 500+ mods, but one thing hasn't changed: the people who trust us want a server that runs well, is easy to manage, and ready to welcome their friends.

That's exactly what we've been building for over twenty years. Over time, we've hosted servers between friends, content creators, Discord communities, modded projects, more ambitious events, but also official Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline servers as an EA TRUSTED PARTNER.

From official Battlefield servers to worlds launched between friends, we've always hosted the same thing: players who want to get together and play under good conditions.

And over the years, one thing became clear to us: managing a server can quickly become scary.

Installing Java or a JDK, opening ports on your internet box, getting your hands dirty with configuration files, adding environment variables or modifying scripts just to launch a local Minecraft server… that's not really what we'd call "accessible".

You can have the best infrastructure in the world, but if every change becomes a nightmare, you miss the essential point: allowing players to launch, manage and run their server without having to learn a new profession.

That's why we work as much on our tools as on our machines. And that's also why we created our famous nitroserv Manager.

For us, marketing arrived after 22 years of existence. Technology has been here from the start.

Our approach

Our vision of hosting

  • Servers simple to launch

The goal isn't to turn you into a system administrator: you choose your game, configure your plan, find your server in the Manager and invite your players. Easy as pie!

  • Tools made for players

Installing a modpack, restoring a backup, managing your files or monitoring your server status shouldn't require three tutorials and an incantation in JSON.

We design our tools so that important actions remain understandable and accessible.

  • Real attention to performance

We don't choose our machines at random. Before reaching our current fleet, we spent nearly two years testing dozens of CPUs, comparing configurations, benchmarking, adjusting, and starting over again and again.

CPU, RAM, NVMe, network: every component matters to keep your server responsive, even when your world grows, mods pile up or players start building everywhere.

  • A team that knows its machines

We manage our own fleet, our own tools and our own Manager. When we evolve nitroserv, it's because we know what it changes on real game servers.

And because before choosing a machine, we've tested it, compared it, benchmarked it, and probably tested it again to be sure.

An infrastructure in synergy with our tools

Two pillars, one same mission

An infrastructure designed for real game servers

A game server isn't a "gaming" offer placed on generic infrastructure.

You need RAM (and plenty of it), fast CPUs, NVMe storage that keeps up, solid networking and machines we really know.

Our fleet is built on AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Ryzen 9 5950X and EPYC 9575F processors, with NVMe storage, DDR5 and 10 Gb/s connectivity. Our machines are hosted in Lyon, in a data center we manage internally.

In short: we prefer to invest in hardware rather than big talk.

Yes, we know it's paradoxical to write that on an "About" page, but marketing had to prove it exists now...

An in-house Manager, created to simplify your gaming

To manage your server, we created a tool we called… the Manager.

Very creative name, we know. We're better with servers than naming.

From the start, the nitroserv Manager has been developed in-house.

Not a generic panel repainted in our colors, not a third-party tool hacked together in a corner: our own interface, designed for our servers, our players and the uses we see every day.

Configuration, console, backups, mods, players, files, SFTP access or restarts: everything is grouped in a clear interface, with visual settings and guided menus.

You check, you choose, you save, and your server follows.

And behind nitroserv?

A French team, serving players

Behind nitroserv, there's a core team of 4 people based in France. We're all kind of Swiss Army knives, with our areas of expertise: web development, infrastructure and networking, support or communication, but above all we're graphics card eaters and inveterate gamers.

Far from multinationals, we move forward with a pretty simple idea: offer solid servers, clear tools, honest prices and a Manager that really helps you.

To go even further, we developed NitroBot: you ask it to analyze your logs, adjust a setting or help you install a mod, and it gets its hands dirty for you.
